HELP-LT

Cable presence detection systems and energy efficiency monitoring
on single-phase or three-phase electrified lines, in AC or without voltage.

Benefits

Measures energy efficiency

The absorption on the line means being able to:

  • check the efficiency, signalling any Cos-phi values lower than nominal;
  • keep the connected loads under control;
  • report anomalous absorptions that differs from the stored value.

Reports damaged loads

During installation, the energy absorbed by the line is correlated to the number of assets present. So, in the event of a breakdown or cut in the line itself, an alarm is generated and the exact number of non-functioning loads can be determined.

Measures the line resistance

In the absence of voltage, you can measure the resistance of your line up to 100 ohms, with a resolution of 0.1 ohms.

In this way, it is possible to:

  • check the presence of heating devices;
  • check the presence of the primary of transformers;
  • receive an alarm in the event of values differing from those stored.

Measures line degradation

  • In the absence of voltage, you can measure the resistance between the Neutral and earth up to 100 ohms, receiving an alarm if the value read is higher than the set value to monitor.
  • Measures the insulation resistance between the phase and the ground (but only in the absence of resistive loads on the line), generating an alarm signal if the read value is lower than the set value.

Measures the line capacity

The line capacity can be measured up to about 2000 uF, hence it is possible to check for the presence of capacitive loads (for example, the power factor correction of fluorescent lamp) and receive an alarm if the read value differs from that stored.

Identifies the cut-off point

Thanks to the capacitive measurement of the power factor correction capacitors and correlating the capacitance detected during the installation phase with the number of assets present, you can – even in the case of partial line cut – indicatively determine at what point such was effectuated.

Monitors even without power

If there are no resistive or capacitive loads in the line (for example, in lines with LED lighting), you can monitor such even in the absence of any power supply, simply by installing a transformer (with a secondary one open) or a power factor correction capacitor of adequate capacity at the end of the line.

HELP-LT details

HELP-LT consists of:

  • a master device with a display for general control;
  • a certain number of slave devices, each of which controls a single-phase line or a phase of a three-phase line;
  • an RS485 line that connects the slaves to each other.
